We recently chatted with her about philanthropy, fashion, and style. Here's what she had to say!

Your favorite charity you feel passionate about & why?
I've felt connected to Girls Inc., being a volunteer throughout the year, brings a certain sense of compassion, care and community to my life. I can relate to these girls on so many levels and engaging with them has been a true joy. Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through life-changing programs and experiences that help girls navigate gender, economic, and social barriers. And what lady doesn't want to be bold and smart all at the same time.

What is your favorite designer, fashion world personality, or fashion quote?
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." -Coco Chanel

What is a style/look that you're currently favoring?
I love dresses ... peplum and skater skirts and being 'girly'. And it's funny, I've always had a passion for fashion. I remember my Aunt “C” – Ceola giving me Essence, Ebony and fashion-related catalogues when I was very young. She would save the magazines for me – in this magazine rack in her gothic–victorian styled home – in the heart of Uptown New Orleans and I would dog-ear pages of fashion items I loved and wanted one day!

Tell us one article of clothing or accessory you can't live without and why.
I can't live without a vintage clutch! It's something about carrying a clutch that brings a certain poise and grace to my fashionista life! And whenever I hit up a thrift store, I go straight to the handbag section to snatch up all the clutch bags I can find. :)
