Now that my husband’s time in the NFL is over, we are really enjoying life in Orlando, FL. One of the questions that people always ask me is, “What is life like now that your husband isn’t playing?” The answer to that question is very complex. To be honest, life is great. I try to be humble and thankful in any situation and while our time in the NFL was a whirlwind and an amazing experience, life at home is amazing as well. It’s much more calm and stable and we have adjusted well to our new way of life. We definitely miss the hustle and bustle and always being on the go, but after 5 years it was a welcomed change. My daughter is 5 and she is an aspiring track and field athlete. She loves soccer, dance, swimming, and everything outdoors. My son is 3 and he loves anything to do with balls! Footballs, soccer balls, basketballs, and baseballs- he has them all. He tells me all the time that football is his favorite but he enjoys all sports. My husband is passionate about working with current and future professional athletes and helping them reach their goals on an off the field. He is very involved in the community through various organizations and enjoys giving back whenever possible. He also enjoys working out and staying active. While I miss our days in the NFL, I wouldn’t trade the life we have now for anything.
Another question that people seem to ask is “What’s your favorite NFL Team?” and again the answer is not so simple. After being drafted by the Packers and winning the Super Bowl with the team, they definitely hold a special place in my heart. I cheer for them from time to time, but I don’t necessarily rush home to catch the game or follow them from week to week. The same can be said for the Oakland Raiders and the Detroit Lions. Over the years, my husband and I have developed friendships with people on a lot of NFL teams. I think we would be hard pressed to turn on a game where we don’t know anybody on the field. We cheer for our friends on whatever team that they happen to play for and have fun watching games as fans. It’s so much more relaxing to watch when none of the outcomes of the games affect your life! When it comes to college football, our hearts bleed Orange & Blue for the Auburn Tigers, our alma mater.
I am thrilled to be a contributor to Posh Mommy because it is an opportunity to give back and pass on great deals on clothing and accessories that I no longer use. The proceeds of my contributions benefit the Reevis Beecher Hill Benevolent Fund to continue the kindness and generosity shown by my late grandmother who passed away in 2010. I am thankful for this platform to give back. Feel free to connect with me on twitter @DrMrsMommyLee.
