For the month of July, The Posh Mommy will be donating a portion of our proceeds to The Moyer Foundation (TMF). With camps all over the country, TMF has been able to give hope and healing to thousands of children experiencing grief and family addiction. Currently, The Moyer Foundation is celebrating its 15th year of helping children!
The Moyer Foundation is a public, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide comfort, hope and healing to children affected by loss and family addiction. The Moyer Foundation was established in 2000 by entrepreneur and philanthropist Karen Moyer alongside her husband Jamie Moyer, former MLB and World Series champion pitcher. The Foundation’s unique camp programs bring children together to find positive ways to cope with the important, but often overlooked, issues facing children today in grief and family addiction.
Camp Erin® — With 46 camp locations across the country, Camp Erin is the largest national network of free bereavement camps for children and teens ages 6-17 which includes a location serving children in every MLB city. Campers participate in fun, traditional camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support. Camp Erin was recently featured in HBO Documentary film’s “ONE LAST HUG: Three Days at Grief Camp” that went on to win an Emmy® award for Outstanding Children’s Programming.
Camp Mariposa® — Camp Mariposa is a free, first-of-its-kind program for children ages 9-12 impacted by a family member's addiction. There are currently eight Camp Mariposa locations nationwide that host camp every other month. For many of our campers, one or both of their parents struggle with substance abuse. At camp, these children are given the skills to cope with their family member’s addiction, as well the knowledge and resources to break the cycle of substance abuse in their family.
"No child deserves to live life without hope, comfort and support. The work we do is vital and gives thousands of children the potential and power to choose a more positive life. Lives are being changed and some being saved. Join us in continuing the Foundation's legacy of helping children in in distress. Together, we can make a bigger difference." - Karen and Jamie Moyer
