Fashion is an avenue to express yourself, try something new and, as we learned in the post 5 Timeless Fashion Styles Inspired by YOU!, a way to bond with other generations. We took five trends finding their way back into circulation this fall and put together looks you can pull off with little effort. Considering these five trends are rooted in generations past, many of the items we sourced you likely have a version of in your closet! And for those items you lack, or want to upgrade, we have your back with functional and luxury suggestions. Here’s how to repurpose, freshen up and reuse a staple piece in your closet based on the current fashion trends set to take off this fall.

#1 Suits with Sneakers

Classy comfort is the new pumpkin spice this fall. No need to pick between a polished professional look or foot blisters, because sneakers have transcended the gym and into the work place. Pulling off the suits with sneakers look is as easy as opening up your closet. We’d recommend starting with your suit or pair of sneakers and building from there. We’ve pieced together this look below to help with inspiration or to fill in the gaps in your collection.

#2 Combat Boots

Gone are the days combat boots are exclusively for manual labor because these functional shoes will be everywhere this fall. We are loving the mini skirt and oversized sweater pairing, which we’ve broken down below. This look is best built by starting with the boot and then building in the items. What’s great about this look, is many of these pieces most likely live in your wardrobe already. There are many different styles of the combat boot and our favorite variation comes from Que by QS Jamilia.

#3 Flannel

Flannel is warm, versatile & in style this season. We are digging this layered flannel look which is not only on trend but very pragmatic because you never know what fall day you will experience four seasons in 24 hours. To build this look you can grab any basic flannel button up, there is no need to get fancy with the shirt, unless you want to. You then add flair with the accessories and layers. To bring in a polished look we recommend pairing with a jacket like the edgy Bano eeMee Haile Jacket. Grab your flannel and be ready to fit right in everywhere there are pumpkins, football and apple cider.

#4 The Puffy Jacket

Who doesn’t love a puffy jacket? We are thrilled to see this functional yet chic piece on the edge of fall fashion. The following look doesn’t have to sacrifice luxury for comfort, by adding some premium accessories you can stay on the forefront of fashion while staying warm. We are loving the Nap Loungewear Buttoned Faux Coat and would recommend pairing it with a skinny fit pant and your favorite beanie for a pop of color and personality.

#5 Denim

There are many debates on which jean fit and styles are the best, regardless of the opinion we know that jeans are in this season. Some may argue, have they ever been out of season? Dig out your favorite pair of denim and get ready to breath some fresh life into them. We are feeling the elegance of a body suit, or form fitting top, paired with your favorite fitting jeans with a long jacket to highlight your frame and your confidence. Finish with a pair of bold earrings or a bright handbag to shine your personality through.

By opening your closest with fresh eyes, you can find ways to repurpose, freshen up and reuse some pieces to build a look that will have designers impressed. Adding a new perspective, and a few accessories, can be just what you need to feel empowered this fall.
